Below is the letter from the Most Ven. Abbess Thich Nu Nhu Minh of Tay Linh temple, Hue city:
Dear friends of Bodhi Charity Foundation
Yesterday, Nov 25, 2023, Nhu Minh went to help people in Huong So, Phu Hau, Gia Hoi, and Thuan Loc wards, including 460 disadvantaged households affected by the flood. Each family received aids worth 450.000 VND, including 200.000 VND in cash, 10kg of rice, and 1 box of noodles. The Foundation’s fund ($1000) supported 54 households. Although they are in the city, these households are poor, most of them are cyclo drivers, motorbike drivers, street vendors, lottery ticket sellers, and bag and plastic collectors.
This year, floods in Hue city are deeper than other districts because of heavy rain and flood waters from Ta Trach and Binh Dien lakes. In Tay Linh temple the flood is more than 1 meter; it came at night and quickly so power went out and things were damaged because people did not have time to respond. There are reports of another wave of flood from November 24 to 27. People are worried, what a pity!
Representing people in flooded areas, Nhu Minh would like to thank BCF and donors for promptly helping people in their time of need.
